About the NMC

India's medical education regulator

Established under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the NMC replaced the Medical Council of India as the statutory body responsible for regulating medical education and practice across the country.

It sets the curriculum framework, faculty-to-student ratios, clinical training requirements, and infrastructure benchmarks that every recognised medical college — including PESIMSR — must meet and maintain.
